I was actually surprised I made level 5 for the first time. There were 2 key factors. Firstly, they increased the amount of people from to Secondly, I managed to preorder both consoles through EB and traded in all of my previous gen consoles, so that worked out to be a stupid amount of carrots apparently. When it says trade credit, does it mean for EB Games to hold or change to EB Games Card or do you have to trade for something like buying another game?
They usually just give you a gift card with the amount of your trade-ins minus the price of gift card. Or can I top up on different branches? MBix: Thanks! I have some preorder credits with 1 branch, called another one to use it on their store but they declined :. Will probably check with them again. Other staff at the same store has no issues. Also done what MBix said preorder at one store, cancel to use at another a few times with no dramas.
So really it depends on who you get. But i don't know if they can do anything about it if i just cancel the pre-order. Some other states apparently can, some even allow trading for cash. Depends where you are. For me in NSW, no gift card or cash back.
I can only use it in buying another game or keep putting it in preorders. New to this. Am I able to trade now with this special and bank them for upcoming preorder specials when they come? I was surprised too when they said, "Do you just want cash, there's no difference anymore". I used to do the trade dance before to get it as cash, seems like they realised people were doing this and gave up.
I think they have some regret policies, like you can get back what you trade within three days or some. The controller still work, thanks. Used games can be swapped and resealed? However, to not disrupt plans for the holiday season, no changes will be made in either company's organization until Then, in mall locations where there is duplication in retail outlets, store closings will follow "when appropriate," according to a GameStop official.
Though technically a takeover, the GameStop-EB merger met with glowing approval from both parties. GameStop chairman and chief executive officer R. Richard Fontaine also had good things to say about the deal, which isn't surprising, as he will retain this top slot after the merger. I'm almost wholly digital these days, I only go to EB for a contained single player experience that I can trade back a few weeks later for PSN credit.
Even less considering their other expenses. I know sometimes people feel like they are getting ripped off but you gotta compromise somewhere, can't have really cheap games and high trade prices, they are still a company and have to make money somehow.
I understand your points and may have gotten a little carried away with some slight exaggeration, but the general point I was trying to get across is the same, not to mention there are always outliers.
I had't heard about the trade within a fortnight deal, but I'm not a console gamer, so apologies for not knowing about that one. I wasn't trying to make a thread simply to whinge about EB - I understand they have a business to run, I have a decent relationship with the manager of my store, probably because he knows how much I spend, but I still find that they could offer better prices for certain games and still make massive profits.
The best a PC gamer can do is get a refund if they haven't played more than a few hours. Woot, we learned I spent way too much time doing something! I'm going to spend more time analyzing why I spent so much time doing something that I shouldn't have spent doing to see how I can learn from my mistake of spending too much time doing something I shouldn't have been doing in the first place.
Poll Options expired 8. Do you keep all of your old games, systems etc. Do you regularly sell your old games at online auction or similar sites? Do you think EB in its current form will last going forward the next years?
Do you think EB is a better store for gamers now that it was say years ago? EB Games Australia. Which I think is why preowned and new prices are always kept so high. Even less considering their other expenses I know sometimes people feel like they are getting ripped off but you gotta compromise somewhere, can't have really cheap games and high trade prices, they are still a company and have to make money somehow.
Does eb still accept xbox games and ps3 games?
